Alex McFarlane is the founder and CEO of Keyring Network, the gateway for low-risk decentralized finance. A former rates structuring quant and fixed-income trader, Alex is one of the few people to have worked across all three pillars of traditional finance’s rates ecosystem (i.e,, regulatory risk modeling, trading, and structuring) before applying that expertise to DeFi.

He began his career on Nomura’s rates-volatility desk, where he created the firm’s first proof-of-concept for FRTB curvature-risk modeling in collaboration with Tokyo quants, later designing and trading quantitative investment strategies (QIS) in interest-rate products.
