Elias is a Senior Research Fellow at IOG specializing in algorithmic game theory, blockchains, and mechanism design. His research focuses on game-theoretic aspects of blockchain protocols, including incentive structures and pool organization.

He obtained his PhD from UC San Diego and previously held faculty positions at UCLA and the University of Athens. He is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Oxford and has been part of IOG since 2017.
