Marieke is an experienced tech executive with 15+ years in C-level roles, including five years as a CEO turned board member, investor and advisor. Here career highlights include scaling NEAR from 50k to 14 million MAU, building from scratch a full stack digital bank (Mettle by NatWest), launching and scaling Circle’s core products across Europe and globally. She has also held leadership and managerial positions at companies like Hotels.com (an Expedia brand), BCG and LVMH.

Marieke currently serve as a Non-Executive Director at IG Group, a FTSE 250 company and advise organisations like Giga (by UNICEF). She is an active angel investor and advisor, focusing on early-stage startups in AI, energy, women health (28x) and blockchain. She is an LP in Project Europe and the co-author of the newsletter Euro Stable Watch. Marieke is a global citizen, having lived and worked across all continents.
